have booked UC from SFO to LHR, in the bubble in seats 1 and 2 K. travelling as a couple.
would other flyers reccomend these seats?
probably going to try and get some sleep on the flight.
nearly all the seats downstairs are still free including 12 A and K.
any advice on whether to change seats would be appreciated.
also when upstairs, do the ECM passengers get off last? therefore are you stuck behind them?
thanks

Personally I would move downstairs. I don't like the split cabin at all (and I know I'm not alone in that view ).

I prefer the A zone - much more airy and spacious than the other UC mini cabins
If 12 A/K are still free then nab them.

12A/K are nice to be together, but be aware that they lack their own overhead compartments. If you board early you can use the row 15 overhead bins (which sucks for rows 14 and 15).
Further back (rows 20-23), the middle pair look to me to be able to remove the barrier between the seats, but I've never been seated there to try it out.

As much as I liked travelling in the bubble but the toilet at the front and Y pax making the upstairs UC cabin not very appealing to me.

Get 12A and K...not travelled in them myself but they look really cosy for a couple. As a lone traveller my preference after only 1 UC flight is 15K

Definitely go for 12A/K or others in the A zone. The bubble is good for economy pax, but not for those travelling in UC. Upstairs you will have trouble getting in, on the way out you have to wait until all the economy pax have gone down the stairs and it slows the service too. The crew don't like it for that reason.
I just came back from SFO on Friday and had 19A in the A zone and for a single traveller that's an excellent private, peaceful location.
Oh, if you are travelling before the end of Feb, don't forget to collect your complimentary Orville and Wilbur salt and pepper pots! :w

There's a toilet now at the rear of the upper deck for the Y passengers, so they don;t have to pass through the UC cabin to get to one (not sure if that's what you meant or not!)

Well the CC will always put them in one of the wardrobes in the barrier at the back of the A-Zone
I thought all the barriers were fixed - they don't look very removable to me !

Tonty - I was browing the photos section (prompted by Pete's V-Flyer guide book) and came across
this picture that Bazz took back in 2006 of three-in-a-bed!
So unless the UCS design has changed, it looks like the screen is removable.

Wow... that's certainly news to me, I thought that 12A/K was the only real 'couple friendly' option in UC.

The screen is no longer removable. It used to be years ago when the UCS on the 744 was first introduced but hasn't been for a long time now.

Pity... Wonder if passenger 'indiscretions' were to blame for that change!

Nope it was damage to the Suites from removing the dividers that was to blame.

and if you look at the photo you can see the scuffing and what looks like a split.
