Hello everyone. I searched the forum to try to find an answer to this, but haven't been able to.

I noticed that the seats in row 42 on the VS A340-600 are adjacent to a crew stairway that takes up the space where the middle seats would be. However, one of the websites I visited (can't remember which one) mentioned that there is no window in this row. Is this true? I like the fact that there is nobody sitting across the aisle, but wouldn't want to sit there if there is no window! :0

The rows missing windows on the A346 are:
19 (in PE)
32 and 52 in Economy - I'm 99% sure of these

I can't recall exactly, but I think Row 42 is going to be where the water fountain is in Y, and also the door to the crew rest. I wouldn't recommend sitting there as you'll get more foot traffic.

As far forward as possible is my rule (generally) because you'll be off before most of the herd to minimise queues at immigration.

Not sure about the window but clarkeysntfc is right about the foot traffic -- there is also a toilet just behind you which generates queues. And although there is no-one across the aisle, it doesn't make all that much difference (in my opinion).

I can't remember if the water fountain is at that bulkhead -- I thought it was at the one further back, but I may be wrong.

There is a window at row 42.

The water fountains are situated a few rows back between the L3 and R3 doors.

Thanks, everyone! I think I'll stick with row 42 for now, but will try to move forward when the front section opens up during OLCI.

Probably something to do with the structure of the fuselage of the aircraft. Lots of aircraft have 'missing windows' at some point on their bodies.

The worst I've ever seen was the back 2/3 windows on an AA MD-80. The engines are right at the back, attached to the fuselage on this plane, so the people in these rows had a 'view' of the engine itself, and the noise was like being inside a washing machine on spin cycle. It was much quieter nearer the front though!

AIUI missing windows is the area where the sections of fuselage are joined.
