In praise of the LHR Clubhouse

Passing through as frequently as I do, I realise I sometimes take the Clubhouse for granted, but yesterday I had a little longer than usual due to a shortish VS9 delay and I just wanted to say how absolutely wonderful it is.
Had a haircut (booked in advance, a little perk of elevated status), enjoyed a drink in the loft, and the deli is so good - dressed crab, beetroot cured salmon anyone (just delicious). A busy day with half term and lots of delays yesterday ... but great service.
So here's a toast to a fabulous place!

Praise indeed y) - whenever I find myself walking into another lounge, I always feel disappointed when I look around that it isn't the CH :

I absolutely agree - it is by far the best lounge I have been in.
I have been in many other lounges and they all fall short as either being too much like a posh Gentlemens club where you talk in hushed tones or over crowded like a bus station.
Whilst the CH can get very busy it still has great service and facilities. The food choice and quality is better than a lot of restaurants - not easy when you are doing a sort of fast food service.
As I have mentioned before, I used to fly UA and you are lucky to get a piece of red leicester and a biscuit plus you have to pay for drinks in their Red Carpet lounge.

Yes the LHR CH is fantastic.
The service in the LGW CH is by far the best I've ever experienced!

Slinky, we often forget what we have but agree totally that the LHR CH is simply outstanding - the food, the service and the many services it offers....can't wait to visit again on Thursday.

I was there on Thursday afternoon and it was just as special as always. The place is a delight, the facilities excellent and all the staff make me feel welcome and valued.
I noticed they have recently(?) installed iPads up by the big screen, so they continue to invest and innovate there too.
JCBR - you are right about the hushed tones in other clubhouses, its as if they are places to sit quietly, but not to enjoy ones-self. The Virgin CH is quite the opposite, its a place for fun and pleasure. Hardly surprising that many of us get there intentionally early to enjoy the full set of benefits.
A big thumbs up from me. y) y)
