Florida villa rental - August 2012

Hi,

My sister is looking to rent a villa as per above. She's visited the state before, but this time is struggling to find somewhere suitable and is getting a little worried, as time is a-hurrying along.

She isn't looking for Orlando, Fort Myers area, but would prefer the Gulf Coast. Any ideas folks? She's been looking on homeaway - any thoughts for other sites (though I realise many owners may advertise on several sites)???

disney isnt the gulf coast ! fort meyrs is though

try vrbo.com or villas2000.com

any ideas roughly where - you have from Naples to Spring Hill -around 150 miles to choose from.

you have from the opulent (Naples) , the busy (TAmpa/st petes/siesta key) to the quiet (rotonda)...on the beach (costly) a few miles off (cheaper)

name your choice :-)

They're looking for a villa rather than a condo. Like us, they've previously stayed in the Rotunda/Port Charlotte area and loved it, but would like to try somewhere else. They also like being by water, and would like a pool. Just the two of them though, and I think their budget is about £800 a week.

no problem

for that they could stay at manasota key. its about 10 miles from rotonda but right on the beach . we have stayed there before we moved here -the homes generally dont have private pools though.

going south Fort Myers beach is the next best. heading north is harder maybe siesta or longboat ?

Thanks Pete. They've stayed at Manasota before too, or rather, just off it, so they could get a pool. She's also realised (as indeed I have) that it gets harder when looking north - but thanks to everyone for their help and suggestions - have passed them on to her (it's what little sisters do!), it's now in her hands.
