Sorry for a question that has probably been asked a million times, but my search was not fruitful....

I have had a BA Amex and have frequently used the 2 for 1 voucher to get first class flights on BA.

However I fancy a change and have many hundreds of thousands of miles on my VA account, that I wish to start using.

Does the Black VA Amex give you this 2 for 1 offer once you spend £7500? I've seen you get a companion voucher but is this the same thing, or do you have to buy a ticket?

The VS card gives you a companion voucher, which means if you buy a correctly fare coded ticket (see below) you can then get another 'free', plus all the applicable taxes/surcharges, which isn't the same as the BA 2 for 1 voucher.

The fare codes required are:
UC - Full J class fare codes only
PE - W and S fare codes
Econ - Y, B, R, D fae codes

With the VS AmEx you also get a PE upgrade voucher, so if you buy an Econ ticket with miles, you will get a free upgrade to PE (subject to PE reward availability)
