A330's

Hello everyone,

I've noticed the last few days that one of A330's returning from Orlando to Gatwick has not gone on the return leg LGW to MCO and instead has been operated by a 747. It seems the aircraft is sat at LGW as the later flight is also operated by a 747.

Anyone any ideas why? Can't be tech, as this has happened with both Madamoiselle Rouge and Brauty Queen. I wondered if they were doing line training with new a330's due for the LHR fleet soon.

Cheers for reading.

There is a regular rotation at MCO where an LGW arriving plane is sent to MAN for its return trip whilst the plane from MAN goes to LGW - something to do with the maintenance schedules.

The 330 operates about 4 times a week from lgw to mco, the route is operated by a 744 on the other days and yes the a/c does just sit at lgw when not beIng used so it can be used for aircraft visits as more crew are trained on it

One of these aircraft will operate the summer-only service from Glasgow so perhaps part of the answer is it's waiting for summer!

The Glasgow season starts Saturday 31 March with a Saturday and Sunday flight, looking at the timetable looks like one aircraft making two return journeys GLA-MCO.

Hi,
A330 Question
Im flying LHR-JFK on 28 May and just had my reserved PE seats changed yesterday- Ive noticed its because of a change of aircraft from A340-300 to A330-300(3 cabin)is this one of the brand new planes? (Only as im aware the MAN-ORD use a new A330 2 cabin version)and I didnt realise the 3 cabin planes were in use yet.
Forgive me if this is a silly question, not been keeping myself upto date for a while.

We have it listed as a standard commercial flight on our systems, and no special VIP movements listed either.

Not really; the aircraft is just a resource - and despite it being new to the LHR fleet, it doesn't have any significance that it's being started on the, well published, seasonal Chicago run.
