Hi,

I was wondering if some-one could find out if VS 29 (LGW-BGI) is by a lucky chance due to be oeprated by a LHR aircaft (config 4) on the 23/6 or anytime that week.

Looking to make a booking any day that week but would like V-PORT and new preimium seats if possible :)

Thanks in advance :)

Hi Adam - the 23/6 VS29 is currently scheduled to be operated by a (config 4) aircraft. I am sure you know this but it can change.

I am flying to BGI in May and what started off as a Config 1 aircraft has now changed to a config 4 but it can also change the other way.....

Looking back to June 2011 in the schedules the flights to BGI on the 29 were operated by LGW planes (and the same in July) Now what happened last year won't necessarily be repeated this year but that looks to be the pattern.

The best you could hope for is one of the refitted planes but even then the chances are that it would be an unrefitted one.

Plan your flights based on the dates and times that suit your trip and not on being on a particular type of plane becaue as Jon says a plane allocation can change and you will only be left dissapointed,

Hi Jason

If you are already booked - check out the seat-map through manage your booking it will advise there.

I checked for Adam through Expertflyer (though not totally reliable) it gives a good indication. It seems a config 4 aircraft is flying to BGI on various dates through May, June and July currently and probably as cover for the refit programme but things can and do change - so no guarantees! ?|

My own flights to BGI in May were shceduled to be on a config 1 aircraft but the outbound was changed a few weeks ago to a config 4 aircraft but the inbound remains a config 1 so it shows things are by no means certain and can change right up to departure day.

A LHR configured has regularly covered the BGI route for the past few years because there is a higher demand for UC seats on that flight. It has nothing to do with cover for the re-fits

As a regular on this route HL, the VS29 last summer was operated by a LGW/MAN 744 so certainly a change from last summer - a good indicator that business is picking up in the typically quieter summer months. Though accept a LHR a/c configured aircraft has been deployed on the route at other times over the past couple of years. The current BGI UC sale will certainly help fill the seats on the route too over the summer and we will know for sure if it is to help the refit programme if the aircraft starts to appear on other routes out of LGW :X
