I thought the refits were for aircraft flying from LGW/MAN? If this is true that Barberella is leaving for HKG from LHR tomorrow I will be very angry! v(

The flight schedule is showing her as flying MAN-HKG tomorrow.

Barbarella is a LGW/MAN aircraft.

Yes it is the LGW/MAN aircraft. Doesn't really matter airport she flies from for the refit. But you know Barbarella - she takes her pleasure where she finds it.

Im confused... Are we saying that Baberella is scheduled to fly from HEA to HKG on a passenger flight? Or it's flying out to HKG as this is where the re-fits are taking place?

You are getting very confused.

It is flying to HKG to get its new interior, it has been stripped of its interior in MAN recently (there have been videos posted on here and by VS), so is in no state to operate a flight with pax.

It is a LGW/MAN a/c and will be operating routes from those airports once refitted.

She is flying from MAN. I wondered if they would send her via the 200 / 201 route, but then she hasnt any seats on according to the video.

I'd guess the Chinese crew aren't 747 trained either

She is also flying out as VS811 - 8 being the designation of a positioning flight |:)

Spotted her yesterday afternoon (Mon 16th April) 15:30 local time on a stand near the North satellite passenger terminal.
At the time was wondering why there was a VS plane sitting at the airport especially as it was too early for the 200 or 201 and of course it is a 744

I am flying out on the VS15 on 30 April. What are the chances of Barbarella being on this route?

Probably zero, I think I read some where that the refits take around 4 weeks - sorry

That is correct, she won't be back in action until mid May at the earliest.

I may be a bit dumb here but are we talking about a new re-fit for the launch of new UC or is this a different re-fit ?

The long-planned and awaited refits of the LGW 747's.

She's probably flying from LHR as that is where Virgin have their route authority. I know when another UK airline had refits done by ANZ they flew to LHR and then LHR-LAX rather than direct to lax from LTN(their maintainence base)
