Can anybody help me, I have booked premium economy flights to St Lucia and my husband wants to guarantee a seat on the upper deck..... We have 50000 virgin miles each but can't seem to use them, could we use these airmiles to fly on the upper deck or could we pay to reserve the seats......

Welcome to V-Flyer :)

Unfortunately, there's nothing you can do with either miles or cash to guarantee seats in any cabin.

All seats requests are just that; requests and nothing more sorry.

Thanks, just thought I'd ask!!

Never had a problem before but I had heard that the upper deck was now for 1st class passenger.

Upper Class (not first class, it's a business class product) is on the upper deck in the 747s leaving from Heathrow but not Gatwick.

At the moment Premium Economy passengers cannot request seats on the Gatwick flights because the aircraft have just started a re-fit with the first plane currently currently in HKG for this. The reason is that the configuration will be changed and while the refits are underway there will be a mix of "old" and "new" planes flying the different routes. As it will not be known until 24 hours beforehand which plane will be flying which route it has been decided to suspend all seat requests in PE from April till the end of October. What I would suggest to you is to check a couple of hours before OLCI opens to see if the seat map has been loaded for your flight on the Manage my Booking page and then do OLCI when it does open
