LAS Terminal 3...

Its where the Virgin flights in Las Vegas should be coming and going from from June 27th 2012 apparently, a larger terminal...

(I mentioned this in another thread, but no replies so thought it would be worth mentioning on a new topic).

Apparently Terminal 2 will be knocked down, so I assume the Priority Pass lounge will make its way across to the new Terminal, and it will have a BA business/first lounge too (anyone know if Terminal 2 has a BA lounge?). I assume from no mention of it, that there won't be a VS Clubhouse there, though some confusion might come from the restaurant called Dewars Clubhouse though...

No plans to go to Vegas anytime soon, but would be interested in reports of the new terminal once its opened...

Vegas certainly needs the new terminal. Just back from Vegas and the current terminal struggles particularly security.

The internal flight terminal couldn't be more different, modern and efficient. Hope the new terminal 3 is as good.

Look forward to hearing reports.

I'm there again 5 July and will report back if no one has but we will be flying into T2.

Interesting article here http://www.casinocitytimes.com/news/art ... -lv-200749

In late July 2012, United Airlines, Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Air, Frontier Airlines, JetBlue, Sun Country Airlines and Virgin Atlantic will move their operations to Terminal 3. Most of the carriers will shift complete operations (including ticketing, gates and baggage services) while a few will only use Terminal 3 for ticketing and baggage, keeping their gates at Terminal 1.

But that article is contradicted here http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2012/fe ... l-gateway/

All the international traffic will shift to T3 when the doors open, and those carriers will take up residence on the east end of the half-mile-long building.

By the end of July, seven domestic carriers will set up on the west end of the building — Alaska, Frontier, JetBlue, Virgin America, Sun Country, Hawaiian and United.

And an answer to the lounge question.

http://www.vegasinc.com/news/2011/jun/2 ... n-airport/
There’s only one airline club lounge at McCarran, but that will change when Terminal 3 opens. Gideon Toal Management Services will open a generic lounge and contract with multiple carriers so that passengers of many airlines will be able to use one facility.

Doesn't sound great.

Its a pity, our last flight to Vegas was from Manchester, and when doing LHR to JFK, I realised how much we missed when having no clubhouse either side of the trip...

Can't see VS having a lounge at LAS. 5 days a week it has a maximum of 14 Upperclass passengers. Not cost effective.

7 days a week for LGW, and twice a week for Manchester passengers.

But if the inference is you'll never get a bucket and spade clubhouse from anywhere apart from Gatwick because of lack of seats (yet sometimes more expensive seats because of the lack of seats), then its a different claim from such things as lack of clubhouses at LAX, MIA and less so MCO and MAN (bucket and spade but more than 2 flights a day), all because of 'lack of space'.

New Terminal, space, chance of clubhouse... Nil. Pity.

Like I say, MAN-LAS and MAN-MCO and back, two completely clubhouse free VS Upper routes, you've got upper passengers who've never experienced the 'full virgin experience'.

However a V-Room with maybe a section within for Upper & Golds might work. Best of both worlds for both VS/VH & PAX

Only trouble with that is the Vroom isn't for non VH passengers... Ie: Flying from MAN, I couldn't go in. Now, I've no idea if I _wanted_ to go in though...

The wife and I are flying out 27 July.

Our booking still says T2 - has anyone else's booking updated to reflect T3 and landing and departing?

T3 isnt open yet, once its up and running and the desks etc have been relocated, the bookings should reflect the new terminal.

There is an open house tour around T3 today for people to go and have a sneak peek if anyone is out there now

Guess I was being too organised in my head, and thinking the booking system would put T3 since it's after the move I'm flying.

Anyway, looking forward to it. T2 is a bore of a place I have been through a few times.
