Flight paths to West Coast USA Destinations 03/05/2012

Was just casually looking at the flights last night that were currently operating on VS, the flight paths seemed to show that VS43 and also a flight from HEA to LAX took the path over the atlantic straight onto New York and over the states from quite a 'low' path compared to the usual up over scotland... greenland...canada and down the western side of the USA.

What would the reason for this be? Wind directions I assume?

I usually get the LAX overhead here in Nottingham, well when it's clear enough to see above 5000ft due to cloud cover of course!

I live on the south coast of Ireland and I'm often surprised at how often the VS43 flies overhead - in fact it seems to go over the west coast of Ireland just as much as over Scotland. In addition the VS19 to SFO has gone over Ireland heading towards Eagle Rock just north of Achill Island (my home place) a few times this week

Hi Honey lamb, I was on VS19 back on the 25th of Feb, we flew right out over the severn with both bridges in view and then across southern Ireland, took a few pics, was quite magical! I'm sure I saw a wave!

Not a wave but maybe a glint from the empty gin bottles waiting foe recycling ): ):

That would have been the click of fingers seeking more T10 and tonic ): .

I've long been known to misinterpret signals from the females of the species. ?|

Alas, slinky, I was not at home at the time and I have an alibi. Tonty (and others) will be able to confirm I was in Belfast that weekend. However, tonty you also are wrong. The recycling collection had taken place the day before so any evidence of any gin consumption had been removed.

Simon, any glinting you might have seen would have been from the eyes of the cats who colonise the neighbouring overgrown gardens and regularly pay me a visit in the hope that I will be a soft touch for food. :o)

It's a shame I didn't know you were in Belfast. I could have recommended a great gin bar with countless varieties including ............... wait for it..... T10

I can confirm that HL was indeed in Belfast on the 25th February 2012 (and have photos to prive it)

I can also confirm that there was sufficient gin to meet her needs.

You were probably in The Spaniard or Muriel's then. If there were knickers hanging on a clothes line across the ground floor it was Muriel's
Does the cucumber in your Hendricks count as one of your five-a-day?

We did pay a visit to the Spaniard but that was after we had safely dispatched HL back to her homeland on the Sunday morning !
