V-Flyer

Hello everyone,

Just wondered if anyone knows whats going on with G-VSXY (Beauty Queen)? Looking at the Aircraft Database on here it seems she hasn't moved since arriving at Gatwick on 3rd May from MCO.

I only ask because I'm flying on VS27 to MCO on monday which originally was due to be operated by an A330 but as of this evening has changed to a B747-400.

Not such a bad thing I suppose as personally I prefer the PE cabin upstairs...!

Beauty queen was involved in an emergency landing ( slides deployed) in mid April, will probably be a couple of weeks yet until she is back in service.

She has been flying since the accident. I flew on here MAN to MCO April 21 and she was in fine fettle.

Also yesterday's GLA-MCO-GLA was done by 744 rather than a333 Hot lips I think.

Oh yeah! My mistake!

Beauty Queen is just some having routine TLC in the hangar at LGW. She will be flying again very soon

Hello from sunny Orlando!

Well after all that the flight ended up being changed BACK to an A330 a few hours before departure and we ended up flying on Beauty Queen after all.
I guess she maybe just came back from maintenance early or something. Must have caused a bit of a nightmare for the ground agents having to re-assign everyone's seat (again) - a bit annoying as I'd done twilight check in and got 75H & K upstairs on the 747 (exit row) but then ended up without an exit row on the A330 (got 24H&K). I did overhear a few fellow PE pax complaining about not being seated upstairs - promptly informed by the gate staff that the airbus didn't have an upstairs...!
Anyway, at least we got the new seat and excellent IFE, and I have to say one of the best crews we've ever had on a virgin flight.
I'll try and do a TR in a bit, but the pool is calling... )

Hello back at ya! We must question your priorities....pool before TR

G-VSXY was only out of service for a few days and has been flying normally since, the additional time on the ground maybe as mentioned above just some extra tlc
