Looks like the VS27 from LGW to MCO has been delayed by quite a significant time... The return flight is usually the next days VS43 to Vegas!

Chances of a delay on tomorrows VS43? :(!

VS27 is only running about 30 minutes late, you mean VS15?

VS27-VS28 on 10th May were fine. The problem was with VS15-VS16.

I was booked on VS16 to come home from MCO on 10th (yesterday) and I got an ominous text and email in the morning entitled "Important message from Virgin Atlantic" which said: "Good morning, I'm sorry to advise flight VS0016 10MAY has been delayed until midnight tonight. Please check in 2-3hrs prior to the new departure time. Thank you."

I was in New Orleans at the time and my connecting flight would get me there by 3pm so I didn't fancy a 9+ hour layover. (Plus the uncertainty). Because of the delay, and maybe my Au card they happily changed my PE seat on VS16 to one on VS28 at no charge.

Result - I landed at 7.06am this morning ahead of schedule.

The poor bu99ers on VS16 finally took off from MCO at 1:06am this morning MCO time - 5½ hours late - and won't get back to LGW until 2:20pm this afternoon.

From the status updates it can generally be seen if any aircraft suffer extensive delays in a return working from a foreign airport.

I believe in some cases a specialist part may need to be flown out on the next service from London, which can cause 24 hour delays, but someone else may know better and correct this belief.

Yes, XLG was stuck here on the tarmac here in ANU, and left on Thursday evening instead of Wednesday evening as scheduled. They were working all night on what seemed to be quite a major issue with the wing. Parts were flown in on the BA flight the following day and off it went...I imagined it would have caused some knock on delays.
