Miles + Money

Hi all,

Long time since I posted here... place looks great!

I have been watching some Miles + Money fares for December to Orlando, and was actually going to finally book them today as the price was really good. However, they've gone :(

So now am I in a quandry.I'd quite like to wait and see if an M+M fare returns, the normal fare is quite a bit more than I'd ideally want to pay, but I know if I don't book that one soon it could go even higher...

I spoke to VS customer services today and they say once the M+M fares are sold thats it. Is that the experience of you guys and girls, and generally no more get released?

Thanks,

Steve

Many people feel that M + M fares are not all that good value, but sometimes the offer can be good.

There is quite a way to go until December so fares may well come down or more M + M fares released.

This depends of course how succesful VS are at selling fares for your dates. If they are selling well prices will be firm; and vice versa.

They do indeed vary hugely. This time last year, I got some UC to LAX for £1500 plus miles, this year the same trip is showing £2860 plus miles!

Flight sales seem to be very thin on the ground too....

M+M fares are good value when there isn't a sale on. When there is a sale on then they are less good value but to some people a small saving is still worth the miles they spend.

The other thing with M+M, like reward tickets, is that availabilty is generally limited and there is no guarentee more will be made available so the thing to do is book them when you see one you like.

You can phone up and hold them for 24 hours if you need to though in case you need to chack other arrangements.

Thanks for your replies. The m+m fare yesterday was £120 cheaper than the equivalent for economy. That seemed pretty good just a shame I missed the boat.

The sales do seem to be thin on the ground in comparison with previous years, but I suppose I can live in hope...

BA also seems much cheaper but I much prefer VS so think I'll hold out for now...
