Hi All :D

Can't believe I have only just found this forum ii)

Regular Virgin traveller 8 trips to Florida MCO/Miami - all in Economy except for a lovely upgrade to Prem Econ on our honeymoon back in 1994!! :)

Travelling to JFK for 5 nights with my hubby for 18th Wedding Anniversary - first time away without our 2 children (10 & 13) eek!!

Is there a lovely Virgin insider who could tell me how busy our flight is to JFK VS003 on sat 9th June?? Would love to be able to pay on the day to upgrade :)

Thankyou in advance!

Sx

Hunty,

Is that spare seats, or have you added the 7's or 9's together to get those numbers? Just a word of warning... If it's adding up the numbers against the fare buckets, it's not that simple. :(

Or are you using the VS internal numbers?

Hi Hunty88

Thankyou for your quick reply - I am new to this coding thing - what does that mean in respect to seats avail in each class?? Sorry to be a pain!

Looks like VS internal if anything, as the numbers match neither the seats available, which are slightly more than the numbers above, or the EF queries which pretty much show 9s across the way save for Z=6

Wsussex...

Y = Economy
W = Premium Economy
J = Upper Class

You don't need to be a VS insider to do a load check. you can do as many as you like on sites like http://www.flightstats.com and expertflyer

But I am seeing 9+ in UC, 9+ in PE and 9+ in Econ and you will be on the new A330 as well !

Check in 'manage my bookings' to see if there are any upgrades offered there and if so and you like the price then grab them there and then as they may not be there next time you look.

Also there is no guarentee that any will be offered at the airport either.

Enjoy your trip to NYC.

Tonty's right, a lot can change over three weeks especially in premium cabins and on a weekend; using these numbers as predictors of chances on the day is a bit of a gamble. If you really want to do it, try to have an idea of what an acceptable offer is and look for it online day to day, in case you get lucky!

Hi

We booked thru Virgin Holidays - does this mean I can't upgrade on "Manage my Booking" - the icon doesnt seem available?

What are you experiences of cost to upgrade (if avail) on the day??

Using the internal numbers.

Those figures were the amount of spare seats left in each class.

:0).

Unless I have totally misunderstood, you work for VS? Are you allowed to publicly divulge those numbers? They won't even tell you exact numbers like that when you phone up and book ?|

Hunty you need to becareful what you post. You may be in breach of a range of VS policies and procedures and that could have consequences (remember the crew who commented on FB in less than nice terms about some of their passengers and what happened to them)

We do value the input of VS staff but you cannot divulge commercial information such as the number of seats left on a particular flight.

Ah - there are different rules for pax who book via VH - as they get all sorts of discounts and that means things like not being able to upgrade - it might be best to ring them to find out how much it would cost.

THat said the rules seem to go out of the window at the airport so no harm in asking there when you get there.
