I am looking for book a flight for 3 people PE to MCO for October 2013 I understand I can't book anything until the flights are released which VA tell me will be end of November. I am booking using miles plus cash but VA tell me their are limited seats made available for FC members if I book as soon as the flight open what do think my chances are. I can be flexible within a day or so with the flights.

Appreicate any info if anyone has booked this way before.

Yes, the booking window opens 330 days before the flight so November will be when you start (but remember that 330 days also applies to your return :0 )

As far as being able to get 3 Miles plus money seats at once may be a tall order. Virgin are i the business of getting as much cash as they can and with October being Half Term you can expect the availability will be limited

Given that there are at least two flights a day from LGW to MCO you might want / need to consider splitting your party up so 2 go on one flight and 1 on the next (or whatever combination is needed) in order to get the M+M fares.

The key to M+M and award tickets is to be flexible.

Just to further add to what Buns has already said, and I echo his comments about MPM availability during the busy October half term period, although last year I booked 7 MPM tickets from MAN-MCO at Easter so they can be found. Also, you might find that it is a week or so before any MPM fares are released, they don't always release them straight away, so keep checking.

Do check how much you are saving using MPM over a straight lowest cash fare. You will find many on here, who have found that there is very little saving with MPM fares (sometimes they are even more, this usually happens when a sale is on), so quite often it really isn't a good use of miles.

I managed to book Miles+money seats to LAS for this October for 4 people with no problems.
Saved around £70 each i think.

The main issue for the OP is their destination of MCO. At peak times (Xmas/Easter/Summer and half term holidays) all airlines up their prices and drastically reduce reward availability, becaus demand to fly their when the kids are off is stupidly high.

Thanks for all the info we are going about a week before the half term rush to avoid this busy period. But realise I will have to be on the ball with the booking can't split the booking as all have to travel same day same flight.
