Premium Economy New Cabin

Hi there - forum newbie here. I had a quick look around the forum and couldn't find an answer to this question, but apologies if it's been covered somewhere else.

Just booked VS037/VS038 for June 2013 in Premium Economy. The flight is LGW-UVF and some quick web searching reveals that the new premium economy cabin is only out of LGW at the moment.

Does anyone know whether there's a plan to upgrade the cabin out of Gatwick during the next twelve months?

Cheers for your help in advance.

Ben

Hi and welcome,

Yes the LGW a/c are currently being refitted throughout this year, in fact the first refitted a/c has just arrived back and is operating it's first flight today.

If you have a look at the last page of this thread there is a link to a video showing the new interior.

All LGW a/c should be complete by the end of the year.

Out of interest, how can you book for June 2013 now? - I thought Virgin operated the IATA 336 day protocol, meaning that you couldn't book more than 336 days in advance? - Or am I missing something?

I've booked with a travel agent who have agreed to guarantee a rate - they'll then confirm the flights at the end of June when they are available to book. I've accepted that the times of the flight may vary slightly - however they've been the same every other time I've made the journey so don't think they'll alter too much.

Given the OP's destination, I'm guessing it would be as part of a package holiday either through VH or another TA. They of course get an allocation for each flight which they sell in advance of the 336 day rule if booking direct.
