Question regarding LGW refits (again!)

Hello,

Sorry for asking about this topic yet again. I see that one of the Virgin planes is back in operation after a refit and was wondering when the next are due back.

We are flying to Vegas in PE on the 22nd June, so were obviously hoping to experience the new product.

I also keep checking MMB everyday to see of the seat map has come up, I'm not enjoying not having the option to select our seats!!

Many thanks

Kevin :D

There is no confirmed date yet for the second a/c. It is out in the HGK now but only went last week so likely to be a good 4/6 weeks before it is back.

In the Barbarella thread there is a link to a video clip that shows the first refit taking place in Hong Kong, and one of the management types saying they only have 3 weeks per aircraft to turn them around.

I am also thinking of going to Vegas later in the year, but will not go unless almost all of their planes are deep cleaned and refitted.

If it's that much of a big deal, just fly in to LAX on an LHR bird, and then drive to Vegas.

Planning your holiday around the airline seems backwards to me.

I should have said "I will not go/fly on that route"

I find the late afternoon depature from Las Vegas a killer for jet lag for me - I prefer to drive to LAX and get the later flight - then I can sleep on it for at least some of the time.

And I do enjoy the drive - but it can be boring, until you see Vegas rising in the distance. or there are plenty of flight options to/from LAX & LAS.
