Greetings from the LHR CH

Hello v-flyers! Traveling on VS41 today and it's now delayed until 3pm which is no big deal when in the CH. They just announced that there'll be an aircraft swap, so sounds like African Queen is sick, but they don't know what aircraft it'll be yet. Not asked to re-issue boarding passes so assuming it's likely another A343....anyone know?

I noticed that the VS19 is also going out 2 hours late. Is/was there a problem in Heathrow this morning such as fog? The Aer Lingus flight from here left and returned an hour late also and it is often held on the ground here if there is problem in LHR rather than have us circling forever around SE England

Nope, been clear as a bell here at LHR all morning, there's some developing t-storms around the airport now but nothing delay worthy. VS41's delay is purely technical.

There were dalays this morning at LGW due to fog and there had been urgent work on the main runway so they couldn't use the other runway as it didn't have the right technical gubbins for instrument landings

Thanks for that, Simon.

I see that G-VFAR is about to land in LHR from Vancouver some 25 minutes early. She must have known you were waiting for her. :o) Once she has been spruced up you'll be soon on your way.

In the meantime, enjoy your time in the CH and have a good flight

Was very foggy this morning at LHR, cleared around 9 though. Likely to of caused some delays I suspect.
