Generally speaking, it will feel hotter (in my experience). This is partly humidity, partly air quality, and partly just the oppressive and cramped urban environment on Manhattan.

It will be humid. very.

Sounds strange but take a cardigan/light top because once in an airconditioned building / museum you will likely start to feel cold.

A lot of it will be reflected heat from the buildings

Just got back from NYC and it was very humid.

Shorts are a must if you are planning on walking around a lot. When exploring the shopping malls, museums and the like I would suggest trousers and a top - the a/c can be pretty chilly.

As I was leaving it was raining and overcast but warm none the less.

Hope you have a good trip. y)

NYC is likely to be warm although recently weather has been quite cool—but recommend bringing light clothing and a warmer coverup—and shopping if wrong!

I'm in NY right now, although am sadly heading back to the UK weather tonight.
The temperature here is great - mid to upper 20s at the moment, and not too humid. If you're walking around a lot you'll definitely begin to feel it.
It's been a bit rainy over the past week, on and off, but it doesn't seem to linger around. It's definitely not as hot as it will be in a month or two, when the temperature and humidity really bump up a notch.
