I particularly like the "Are you planning on flying to or from Manchester Airport this evening? Could the possible fuel supply problem affect you?" web form

Cue lots of innane comments about holidays ruined and no appreciation of the way airports and airlines operate.

As a paying customer, why would I care about how an airport or airline runs?
I pay my hard earned cash for a service and the airline/airport staff are paid to look after the running.

Easy solution. Just get every passenger to bring 2 x 20L jerrycans filled with aviation fuel, check them in or use the new "Can-drop" facility, and hey presto, problem solved.

As Manchester is 'up North' the DM will either ignore it or run a story on the lines of 'Manchester has airport - SHOCK'

I am very suprised at this.

Don't we all keep plentiful stocks of aviation fuel in our outbuildings?
