Hello
i know if travelling after October/November you cannot pre assign seats (Which totally sucks) but do you think they will bring it back and allow PAX to pre book seats? I'm off to Orlando September 2013 so was hoping for them to bring it back by then. I'm going UC and love booking 6A & 6K for me and the girlfriend!
thanks
Fordie

Bear in mind the A330s that now operate many of the MCO flights don't have UC, so choose your flight carefully.

I've booked the flights already going UC which will be a 747, so I'm hoping to get one of the refitted planes which are apparently being done this year?

Erm and should be withdrawn as the rests reach conclusion.
In my view, seat requests will return when the new system asks you to pay to request your seat - well see howVS implements that.

VS is going to start charging for a seat reservation now?

Really? Start charging, well I suppose there's logic behind that in some ways. Where did you see this? Be interesting if they started charging the amount of complaints they would get

On BA flights, seats have been pre-bookable at a charge for about a couple of years now. At first it caused lots of complaints but at the end of the day 'they' were not actually forcing folk to pre-pay to reserve a seat, just giving them the option and the alternative is to wait until OLCI.
I too believe VS will now follow that pattern too.
However it is worth remembering though, no seat is yours until the final seat belt sign goes on and the aircraft starts to move off. Even if you pre-pay to reserve a seat they can and do ask you to move for 'operational reasons' ): ):

It's only a guess on my part, but it would be a nice little additional earner for VS where even a couple of £m a year makes a difference. A shame if it does happen though, it's a clear differentiator with BA, but as we see time and time again on FB and elsewhere, can also be a real pain in terms of peoples' expectations and VS's ability to meet them. Charging would solve a number of issues.
As with BA, I'd expect Au's and some others to be able to request for free ...
