I see VSHY is going back into LGW soon, I guess never to fly in VS colours again, any idea when the next 330 will appear in service, I recall seeing VWAG coming in July sometime, is this still likely?...

Time to avoid that then, sadly.

Is it really that bad slinky? (I read your trip report.) Are you saying you would choose another carrier over a VS 330?

IMHO, yes it is that bad. Possibly worse. The bar itself may be a bit better, but the new UCS is a major backwards step - an exercise in cramming a few more pax into the same space at the expense of privacy and comfort.
I enjoy flying Virgin, really I do. But I am now actively seeking out flights with the 'classic' layout.

I wouldn't actually seek out another carrier, but like ratechaser above, where there's a choice of plane I would actually seek out 'classic' UCS.

So my Friday vs3 uc will be the preferred choice on a 346?

Appears the A330's are to be avoided in general then. On the LGW fleet, I would choose the 744 and it appears the conscensous is to choose the A346/744 on the LHR fleet. Not been a massive success story to date have they?

Must admit I have changed days of travel to avoid the 330 and use the 747.....now however that damn bubble fiasco is causing another re-think.

Can I ask what those people who are apparently avoiding the 330 will do if they turn up at the airport and instead of the expected 747 or 343/346 a 330 turns up due to a plane change?

Take a deep breath and count to 10. And double up on drinks in the CH beforehand.

Tonty - get on the flight as per usual I would say. Its purely a preference on my part and seems to be the thoughts of a few. Can't be helped if there is a last minute aircraft change, but if I can plan to avoid, I will.

Am i the only person on this board that actually chose to fly an A333?! Suits me having the whole plane to myself...

Well I suppose that's one way to ensure that you don't get any other UC paxx staring at you through their 'opaque' screens...

I read elsewhere that the two A330s in China and the one with Ryan Intl have been sold on and will not be delivered to VS. Is this just someone getting confused?

Had this from the head of VS operations himself, all the A330s are definitely going to be flying in VS colours.

Planespotters.net (no, I'm not one) has Uptown Girl as being delivered last Thursday, anyone seen her?
http://www.planespotters.net/Production_List/Airbus/A330/1315,G-VNYC-Virgin-Atlantic.phpEdit: as in being delivered to LHR, not officially delivered from Airbus which was earlier.

She was parked up at a remote stand at Heathrow yesterday.
