Does anyone now if VS or BA paying out under the EU long delay regulations?

From what I can see VS are not and we were offered 5,000 miles each for an over 5 hour delay from California.

They DO follow the regs, and have a historically good history of doing so.

Details here: http://www.virgin-atlantic.com/gb/en/tr ... tions.html

Did you ask for an alternative?

I thought that there was compensation (600 eur?) planned for long delays.

The VS page covers the general care which was provided.

This is an area that is oft misuderstood and misinterpreted.

EU regs covers cancellations not delays when it comes to compensation as opposed to their duty of care.

There is a European court case relating to delays and the EU 261/2004 regs though but a jdgement has not been handed down yet
