Are Virgin Atlantic changing aircraft for the Olympics?

Anyone know if Virgin plan to use their 747s from the IAD to LHR rather than the Airbus that usually flies?

Flying IAD-LHR July 24th and hoping they stick with the airbus.

Thanks!

Hi Corin, and welcome to the site :)

Just one thing - why would that have anything to do with the Olympics??

Just wondered if passenger numbers might lead them to fly different aircraft with different configurations of Economy/PE/UC than usual?

Hmmm... Unless all of the Olympic teams and spectators are going to come from Washington, then everywhere else would have exactly the same issue, and VS only have a certain number of planes to service all routes...

Until it changes to an A333, but not before the big O.

So I should bid adieu to the A346 I flew every 6 weeks for so long?! When are they moving to the A333?
