Hello all

New member to the forum so be gentle!

I narrowly missed out on the VA Sale for the LGW-MCO route which expired on 10.07.12.

Is there a history of how often these Sales occur or does it simply depend on market forces at the time.

I am looking to book my family of six for flights in April (after Easter!) and obviously want the best deal but do not want to leave it too late and cause any problems with availability.

Edit to thread title by mod to prevent confusion.....Nick

Difficult to predict, it depends on what the competitors are doing, how well VS is doing and a host of other things.

But there will probably be another sale soon.

There is actually one on now - quite a lot of the US destinations have UC prices that match the sale that ended last week. Not sure about Y but the prices look similar to me.

Unfortunately Orlando does not seem to be included.

Basically this is the third iteration of the really big sale that we had a few weeks ago. That had some amazing UC fares. The second one was less good, but had some good PE fares. This third one seems to be mainly Y and J, not colossal savings but not bad nonetheless.

This pattern of little extensions to a big sale seems to be the way VS does things at the moment.

Hello and welcome.

Last year there was a VS sale around the August bank holiday weekend. If BA have one VS will usually follow.

There is a better chance of securing a sale fare for April flights after the Easter period. We used to be able to do that before we needed to book the peak school holiday weeks.

At present, an economy fare from 15th April is £626 :) which is half the cost of what a peak Easter Fare is of £1197. The PE fares after Easter are less than the economy Easter ones ii) Whether these fares come down in a forthcoming sale is unpredictable and they always say on this forum, if you see a fare which you're happy with, then book it because by tomorrow it could have increased. Good luck, :)
