Online check in and printing boarding passes

First time poster so apologies if this question has already been asked, (I have tried searching).

I'd like to check in online due to the fact that I'd like to be able to choose my seat, (which I can do just 24hr's in advance due to the Gatwick fleet refurb). However, I do not have access to a printer in the 24 hours pre flying.
If I check in online and then show up to the bag drop will they print me a boarding pass off there?

Thanks in advance for any responses.

VS000.

Hi and welcome.

Yes you can do OLCI and not print boarding passes, I think many of us on here do it all the time. The agent will print your boarding passes off when you drop your bags off at the airport.

Thanks,
Neil

Hi and welcome to V Flyer

I have often done OLCI in order to secure the seats and then just checked in at the PE desk as normal

I will never use bag drop off - it just seems so much longer

Thanks for your help guys, I'll do the online check in and head straight to the pe desk when I get there.

I was going to ask a question around this subject myself, that's excellent news, thank you.

Welcome VS000 - hope you enjoy all the facilities this site has to offer. I think you'll find that the advice and experiences of a lot of the posters will greatly enhance your travel with VS.
I too do OLCI but never print my boarding pass, preferring to pick up a 'proper' one at the airport.
Enjoy your trip :)

On the subject of checking in and boarding passes, does anybody know if the SSCI machines at LHR give out proper boarding cards or the thermo paper type that the BA ones in T5 give out?

I wish V.S boarding passes were available on smart phones like B.A's...saves all the aggro of printing one out and "losing"it in your top pocket just as you board! :| :P

VS000.

It's no problem at all. I did this about an hour ago in Miami.
