VS008 10 November 2012 re-scheduled

Afternoon all, I have just received an email from Virgin Atlantic advising me that VS008 LAX-LHR has been re-scheduled from 1735 to 1855.
Just wondering if anyone would know of the reason, I have checked to see if it involves daylight saving time changes but UK daylight saving ends 28 October and USA ends 04 November so i don't see that being a factor.

Thanks

Probably slot restriction at LHR. Have a good flight :-)

Ha ha, I had the same for my VS008 on 28 October ... no reason but VS juggling its schedules perhaps to get better utilization of the fleet?

It's certainly no problem for the wife and I, and that means an extra hour and a half in the Air NZ lounge then I guess.

We have two invites if anyone is interested.

Same here for my 601 to JNB on 28/11....originally due to depart 19:25 now it's 20:30, with an additional 15 minutes flight time. :0 Has JNB moved further away from LHR??

I panicked at first thinking it was going to be a 330, but surely not on an 11 hour flight.Does it have the range?

We'll see.

To answer one of your questions, yes it does have the range Thomas cook scananavia uses their A333 (in much denser config) on 13 hour sectors between Scandinavia and Thailand, but they probably wouldn't due to the altitude/temperature problems there.

Hi

Historically JNB would be on a 747 in winter but will now be operated by a 346 and the LA7 will now be on the Boeing for winter.

The reason for longer flight time is because the 600 is slower.

A330-300 can't operate that route as it has no area for crew to sleep. And it's regulation the crew need 3 hours bunk time on a Joburg.

Regards

I believe you have to be flying on the same day, so if you can hang on in LA until 10 November I will be happy to guest you in.
