Thanks for posting, penny.
Is this for just one person?
What with the 80TP benefit earlier this week, VS seems to be taking a pretty low-key approach to the announcement of these initiatives! I wonder what else is forthcoming?

Ignore my question about numbers of passengers -- I've now looked and seen the table. It's not cheap!

They don't mention a limit on radius for the car journeys......

What are VS thinking?? A Guest List!!! Really? What is this.. a nightclub!!
What the hell is next.. priority boarding passes they sell to everyone?
Are they trying to put a price on being AU I wonder ?| Aside for the car journey everything else are perks of the status. I know they have been getting questions asking about what is replacing the benefits and flying club partners that have recently been vanishing, not just from me ii) This could give them a marker to say, see you get this Guest list package for free i) Just a thought.

Thanks for posting.
So finally they have gotten round to offering the LHR UCW to everyone at a price. As I said a while ago they were planning to do this to try and get passenger numbers up that go through the UCW (can't see that it will help much). Obviously there are other reasons to offer this service too.

"with leisurely boarding starting 50 minutes before boarding."
Does anyone actually proof-read this stuff?!

There is a 75mile radius for the car still.. Also I think this will be good for those passengers travelling, for example, on their honeymoon who want something special but cannot afford the Upper Class price tag.
The numbers for this are also strictly limited each day, to avoid detracting from the Clubhouse experience.

Hmmm... Doesn't say that on the page (which, ironically, IS a page of the "small print"...?!). n(

It's the day of launch for the package today so expect to see a Flying Club email in the coming days, in the meantime I'll see if I can get the T's and C's added to the website.

Don't suppose you could wait for a couple of days to give ScubaRoo chance to book his Aberdeen transfer...?

They are a little steep but maybe that's a good thing.. After all it would be a bit of a kick in the teeth if the UCW and Clubhouse were full of families travelling Economy with kids running around everywhere etc.
Edit:
I didn't mean that in a derogatory way towards families with children travelling in Economy at all, just in terms of keeping the Upper Class experience as exclusive as possible.

Some may call this idea a bit "out there" but I was always of the opinion that if someone pays for a service, they are just as entitled to use it as the next man (or woman

).
Surely the more wealthy travellers sometimes have children too, or would that be in "bad form"

Totally agree - I just meant in terms of setting the price at the correct level it's quite important to keep it as an 'exclusive' experience rather than setting the price too low and having everyone use the facilities.

Sure - UC passengers are frequently business travellers and therefore won't be accompanied by children. They probably don't even want children around them.
However, I'm growing sick and bl**dy tired of this constant oppinion on here that children are bad things to have around and are always annoying and behave badly.
And, for the record the worst behaviour I ever witnessed from young people (because that's what children are, you know), was in UC by a couple that obviously had more money than sense, and not a single clue how to bring up or manage children - they frankly didn't even look interested. The only purpose of children for those people was to showcase their wealth by dressing them in Juicy Coteau (or however you spell that).
Sure, noisy disruptive children are a pest, but it's part of life.

I think my comments have been misinterpreted completely. Of course children's behaviour is down to the parents - and children are welcome everywhere with VS - what I was trying to get across is that many Upper Class passengers would start to complain should the Clubhouse start to resemble the V-Room, which is why it's important to set the price accordingly.

Yeah I can understand that. wish I could justify paying for UC on my next flight in November, as it is my budget just about stretched to PE and even that was a bit tight, basically no take aways, or eating out for nearly a year lol. Local Gov. pay sucks contrary to belief

I'm sure I'll love using the V-Room and can't wait for my first PE experience

Ah it'll totally be worth it I'm sure! The V-Room is fab and so is PE!

StillRedHot - you inadvertantly hit a raw nerve hterre, apologies for coming back so strongly.
I'm sre the price level was considered carefully and I can understand the thinking.
In my case, I won't be taking the option, I'll just occassionaly take the full UC experience.
