Currently a tropical storm, forecast to possibly become a cat 1 and maybe hit SW Florida Sunday. Just be warned if you are headed out here !!

The VS 35/36 changed quite a bit today.

Flew into ANU first, then went onto LGW. Then on the return missed out ANU completely, funny because the weather is just fine here at the moment, guess they didn't want to risk it.

Edit: Actually the airport is closed! The Airfield is empty, BA heading straight back from Grenada, all LIAT aircraft stationed elsewhere.

One of my team who lives in Florida says the US is going over the top with Isaac, even though it's not a hurricane, but just because it's been a quiet season ...

I think its a bit typical Slinky, panic panic then....oh its ok !! I guess they like to be prepared :-)

"panic" well that was taken to a new level last autumn in new York city when a possible hurricane resulted in the entire city being shut down! However after Katrina in 2005 the Authorities have to be pro-active, real hurricanes are really serious. Even a tropical storm can be extremely destructive.

With the possibility of this event happening, at least the tv stations will have some different news to broadcast ): ):
