Flaky booking system strikes again

Was looking at flights (again) for October time and got excited until I clicked on the fare codes.

Original booking was for Upper out 10th oct - premium back 17th oct which showed £1364 per seat - not too bad.

Looking a day either side shows fares of £713 or £821 :0

.... but oh no, thats not to be. They show economy out, premium back on the same matrix as upper out, premium back ?

How can it show 2 different outbound classes on the same enquiry ?| ?|

It will be a two class A330 on the way back, so no J class.

It's the outbound flight thats wrong - on one date it shows upper, on another date it shows economy.

Surely if there are no upper seats free on those days in upper, it would show "no flights" rather than show economy seats when you had asked for upper ?| ?|

David

Edit :- if you book upper both ways, it shows correct price so there are upper seats available on the days that it will only show economy if you book upper out premium back ?|

Had the same myself the other day when I was looking for possible flights in November

Goes to show you need to be careful when booking :(!

I have to agree that if you are searching for a class, to merely change to lower class without making it clear, rather than say "no flights" is bordering on being misleading v(

I had a terrible time at the weekend when booking my HKG - SYD flight. The VS website is quite frankly a joke - it was the first time I've ever used the website ( usually ringing Premier instead) and I'll never book a VS flight on-line again v( .
The BA website by contrast is much better and IMHO easier to use .
Please get this sorted VS - if this had been my first experience of anything VS related I wouldn't come back.

A new booking process is being launched soon, and will show all 3 cabins prices and both outbound and return flights separately (as BA currently do).

This just happened to me as well and it's quite annoying. I dont understand why if I click on a $3,500 UC fare, I end up with a $715 economy fare quote.

Dread to think how much revenue Has been lost due to their desperately embarrassing booking engine....
"Please give us another go in the future" might just be too late for many..

I did the same yesterday; approx. £1350 for PE outbound and Upper inbound MAN/MCO. till I saw they'd quoted for economy on the return flight & not upper. Upper both ways did come up with a price, so seats were available.
