I have never used it, but if you do a forum search for the term 'v-room' there are some very positive postings about it.

We used it this year and I have to say, it was excellent. That said, we were there about 6:00am (for 10:00am flight) and they welcomed us no problem. It was totally empty and very relaxing. Staff had a good chat to us and made us very welcome. By the time we left about 9:15am however, it was getting very busy and to be honest, far too overcrowded. Huge queues were also building up outside so it probably got even worse. So, I would say it depends on whether you are on an early flight.

We used the v room a couple of years ago, also going to St Lucia. We found it to be very good, plenty of chairs and tables with a great view of the runway. Buffet breakfast available, also newspapers and internet access. A very relaxing experience away from the hubbub of the main departure lounge. Great for a special occasion and well worth the money.

Have used the V-Room a couple of times and it is very good. As others have mentioned try to get there early as possible as it can get very busy. There is a self service fruit, cereals, drinks hot and cold available. If you want something hot you just go to the counter where the server is and ask for bacon buns, or eggs and toast whatever you fancy. You can up again for re-fills.

There is an internet room with about half a dozen screens, chairs are a bit precarious. There is a play area for children down one end and adults area behind a screen at the other near to the bar. One thing to mention is alcoholic drinks and anything else from the bar is chargeable, we were asked if we wanted a bottle of water and were told its £2 or something along those lines.

If you get in early and manage to get a seat near the window good view of all the flights coming in and out. Nice area to be in away from noise of the general masses well worth the money. y)

The only time I have been in there was a few years ago when the Clubhouse was being refurbished. It was the Friday before October half term and was absolutely packed to the rafters so was hideously noisy and busy.

I camped on a sofa next to the bar where the barman kept topping my glass up with champagne, despite my (feeble)protests. The breakfast offerings were quite reasonable and even as busy as it was, it was still way better than the main departure area.

I have used the V-Room on several occasions before flying to the Caribbean and have always had a good experience.

As has been said get there early to ensure yourself a seat, the food and drinks are of a good quality, I'm sure you could pay more for lesser quality out in the airport.

Enjoy your trip.

Thank you all for your info and for taking time to do so. Looking forward to my first v-room experience,we will be there nice and early as we are checking in online before leaving home for an overnight jolly at the Hilton,so a quick bag dump in the morning and off to the v-room,flight is one of the early ones too so sounds like we should miss the Virgin masses, thanks again all oo)
