Hello,
Has anyone had experience with one-way reward redemptions on partners, in particular Virgin Australia and ANA?
Is a one-way redemption possible on either?

Unless something has changed recently, no one-way reward redemptions are not possible.
You can always book a round-trip/open-jaw and then not show up for the return but its going to cost you the round-trip miles amount unfortunately.
Considering that there are no taxes/charges to pay on the partner redemption and the typical cost of a one-way cash fare, that could still make sense depending on the route.

V Australia do have one way mileage levels.
Don't forget there is a limitation on the Long Haul routes with V Australia.
Short Haul is more diverse again you can do both returns or one way sectors.
ANA is all based on return miles, if you dont use it you lose it. if you no show for the "return" the reward miles will be void.
*SOME* rewards do actually cost on taxes/fees/surcharges, you will only know this once the FC agent has checked for it.
Hope that helps,
Alex
