Flying Virgin-Atlantic for the first time! Upper Class too!

Hello all!

I am so happy I stumbled upon this forum. I am flying LAX/LHR/LAX 9/22, returning 9/29 on a work trip.

I know that the LAX lounge is shared with Air New Zeland -- don't really care about that. I DO care about experiencing the VS Lounge at Heathrow, since I've heard so many great things about it.

With an 11:35am departure for LAX, what time would be best to arrive at the lounge to really appreciate it?

I am very excited about experiencing Upper Class on VS - I've heard some terrific reports from my London-based co-workers. I've flown VA several times and love it.

Our normal airline for business in UA...but they were just OUTRAGEOUSLY priced for FC on this particular trip. I could have purchased a car for what the ticket was costing.

You'll have a great time I'm sure, make sure to experience the bar onboard to stretch your legs. Personally, I'd head to the CH about 8AM in your case, some might suggest later, some a tad earlier (though you can't get in too much earlier, opens at 7 (I think)).

Welcome :) .

I hope it lives up to your expectations. The general wisdom here is that the clubhouse at LHR opens at 7 am, so you err arrive at, oh that's it, 7 am :o) .

Immediately book a treatment, pack your swimwear for the jacuzzi, have a hearty breakfast and only odd people turn down the offer of champagne or even a mojito at 7.01 am has been known :w .

Four hours is a good time to spend there on a first trip - I still love it after many more.

Hi and Welcome to V-Flyer y)

I think one of the best places to start on here to learn of other's experiences, is the Trip Reports - especially for the flights you are taking.

In terms of the arrival time a the Heathrow Clubhouse I would suggest between 7 - 7:30

Wholeheartedly agree with buns here ! I was flying PE but upgraded to UC after reading the trip reports.

You'll have a great time on VS. Their service is second to none so you'll have a great trip !

Enjoy the Clubhouse and make the most of your time there :)

Wow, thanks for the replies! I had us scheduled for an 8:15am pickup at the Soho Hotel that morning! Guess I'll have to be backing that up if we really want to enjoy anything! LOL :D
