Alternative to MCO lounge

Just checked in for the VS016 and was chatting to the guy about the lounge (or lack of) here at the airport. He told me that I could substitute my lounge pass for a $15 meal voucher which can be used at any outlet airside or landside including the Hyatt. So I'm now sitting in Starbucks having a sandwich & drink y) .

Thought this may be useful for anyone else travelling ex MCO who doesn't like the lounge.

Whilst the Delta Crown Room is no Clubhouse, it is a haven of peace and quiet which allows you to compose yourself before the flight out of MCO

Good to know our value to VS ):

Can you tell me if you have to be flying Upper Class to get in the Delta lounge at MCO, or will my Gold flying club status get me in there?

Cheers

Gold members can use the lounge also, this is the case at all lounges that VS have access to for UC pax.

You can also access the Delta Club Lounge for a fee of $50 which is a full day pass.

The delta lounge isnt worth 50 bucks IMO. Buns you may have been lucky but whenever I have used it there has been a fair amount of noisy kids, so a quiet haven -not.

Sure there are normally some kids in the Delta Lounge. But take a stroll down to the wing of Airside 4 where VS & BA depart from, late afternoon when there are at least 3 flights departing (2 VS / 1 BA in low season - at least double that in high season) and you will find a LOT of people and lots of tired / hyper kids running round everywhere. Give me the choice of waiting in this area or in the Delta Lounge & it's a no-brainer.

very true Kraken, I only take hand luggage so dont need to arrive 3hours before hand, so try and leave it as late as possible to enter that hell on earth :-)
