I got an email today with some new (at least to my eyes!) benefits for going over the minimum 40 TP for Gold renewals:

* hit 60 points at renewal and get 2 complimentary clubhouse passes

* 80 points and get a voucher giving a cabin upgrade for 2.

* no date change fees on mileage tickets

All decent changes that are smart of VS to implement. I have to admit that once I'd hit 40 TP for renewal, I shifted my bookings to BA to keep my silver in their program. This may stop that!

I especially like the last one, as it seems a nice benefit for Au holders for no extra requirement. Tasty!

This may be daft of me to ask, but what are mileage tickets? I assume that these would be all non-reward tickets?

mileage tickets = reward tickets.

to be honest I try to use VS miles on other airlines for reward flights, to avoid their ridonkulous fees & surcharges.

Has anyone received the lounge passes in their membership renewal packs? I just got mine with a little note about the companion reward that has been credited to my account, but no lounge passes, and the website says I get 2 if I renew with 60.

The lounge passes were sent out under separate cover at the point they announced this before, for people over 60TP at that time. Whether they continue doing it this way or whether it's done as part of the renewal pack, I'm not sure but I guess they may still be doing them separately... The 80TP upgrade is awarded electronically on your renewal anniversary.

Mine were mailed out seperately, some time afterwards if I recall...

Thanks for clearing that up Paul and RC. I guess they're sent from different places.
