Hey gang!! Having posted resonably recently about diversions galore with regards to the database I am trying to complie about unusual Virgin movements, someone posted an amazing link to thevssource.com. I have noted a few unusual moves recently not covered by said website, so wonder whether anyone can shed any light on them...

21/07 G-VAIR VS096 DIV to London Gatwick. I am assuming this is probably weather related??
07/08 G-VOGE VS250 DIV to Nanjing. I did once see a diversion to SHA on VS250 due to high traffic volumes at Pudong and low fuel? Similar circs?
12/08 G-VFAB VS005 DIV to St Johns...
22/08 G-VTOP VS044 DIV to O'Hare mid flight to Vegas...
08/09 G-VRED VS401 DIV to Kuwait...
17/09 G-VNYC VS039 DIV to Gander...

Thanks very much for any valued inuts in advance folks :)

I think the 07/08 VS250 was diverted due to Typhoon Haikui

Diversion to Gatwick probably fuel related. Too long a hold for the amount of fuel left, that's the usual reason for a diversion from LHR to LGW

Diversions to Gander are almost always fuel related, likely due to stronger headwinds than anticipated (happens a lot in winter) and subsequently not having enough "hold fuel" available.

A VS39 diverted to Gander is almost certainly not fuel related, it's way short of the destination so much more likely to be another event. Should not suggest this, it's very Ryanairesque.
