Virgin Holidays / HIP Hotels - VS "flash sale" tomorrow...

Apparently (as per the email I just received) there is a VS "flash sale" starting tomorrow.

I know there's no limit on a flash sale's validity as such, but I always had in mind they were for the matter of hours/days - something tells me that when they say "starting tomorrow" it means it's the same old ______ regurgitated under the guise of a "sale".

BUT for anyone looking to book - might be worth holding on until tomorrow juuuuust in case :)

Well - here's the quote:

The HipList loves to keep you in the know. And this month we’re clueing you in to some amazing VIP savings courtesy of the Virgin Atlantic flash sale, starting tomorrow.

And the headline was "Psst, Virgin Atlantic sale starts tomorrow"...

Uh huh, sounds like the same old same old to me... Always good to have a VS sale though, I wonder if it will be a reward or revenue sale ?|

Must check SPAM folder :P

The last one only finished about 10 days ago! And maybe it's just me but it feels like there's been a sale of one sort or another pretty much all year - remember those £1200 UC fares to the west coast?

One has to wonder if they're finding it tough to sell tickets this year. Of course the danger of having lots of sales, from VS's point of view, is that customers won't book when there isn't one because they assume another one will be along soon. Rather like DFS - you're a mug if you pay full price!

Doesn't appear to be any sale fares loaded at present, that's not to say it won't happen but usually they change the night before any official announcement.

They're loaded now.

Banners on VA.com and Flight Centre were straight on it with a mailshot already.

Does seem to be mostly economy on offer - with varying end dates for booking of between Monday and a week or so's time.

One hidden gem, maybe - Sydney over Xmas in Upper Class, anyone....?

£2,987 21 Dec 12 - 15 Jan 13

I cannot see any additional sale fare on the virgin atlantic website other than what was there before ie economy sale fares ending 22nd October.
Perhaps I'm missing something.
There is info on the VH page referring to a "flash sale" covering the destinations of Dubai, Mauritus and South Africa.

It made no difference to some PE flights to NYC I've just booked, exactly the same price as yesterday.
