I have a flying co business account , as well as the usual perosnal one. After my flight this week I will have over 10k in the company account

now looking at the business spend miles I can either use 10k for a lounge pass on the return trip (LHR-EWR) OR upgrade from PE to UC..........

you know whats coming...IF I upgrade to UC before the flight -dont I get lounge access anyway ??? if so I dont have to think too hard how to spend the miles :D

even if no lounge access i still think 7 hours of comfort wins

Yes - you're correct. You get lounge access and Upper AND a larger fuel surcharge bill.

SOME choose to not give VS the extra fuel surcharge amount and stick with PE, just using the miles for the Clubhouse access. Horses for courses.

you are right Paul...$252 dollars so about £150-160 which isnt bad for an UC upgrade I guess

:)

Trust me - I'm with you. ESPECIALLY as a FlyingCo. upgrade reward can be used against a K booking! It doesn't make sense. But I guess to some (and some companies) it does.

That seems alot for a PE-UC upgrade - paid £53 earlier in the year for the difference in charges between PE and UC on a flight to NYC (as you're already paying the higher rate of APD for a PE flight its purely just the difference in fuel surcharge you should be paying!)
