Missing miles or not?

I booked flights for my son to join us mid way through our recent California trip. He flew out in Economy (X) to SFO and I paid for an Economy return upgraded to UC with his FC miles for the return trip from LAX on Monday. A spoilt boy and we had to be content with PE.

We have been unable right from the beginning to link his FC no. to the booking, but we were subsequently able to claim the missing miles for the outbound flight but after trying today the system would not allow me to claim his miles for the Economy portion of the inbound leg. Is this correct or should he be able to claim the miles for Economy ticket paid for?

Yes, you are due the economy miles but need to call Flying Club to get them (they will put them on instantly).

Miles & tier points don't go on automatically for the paid part of a mileage upgrade.

Thank you. I will ring them tomorrow. I tried to claim them via the website but got the message that he wasn't on that flight, which seemed a bit strange. ?|

As pb says, give them a call. I had a simnilar situation recently, the staff at the call centre seem very well aware of this. I know how irritating it is though, I also got the same message when I tried to claim them via the site. Been said before, but it'd be great if VS could sort this out. I know very little about techy stuff, but wouldn't have thought it beyond the skills or programmers?

Sits back and awaits for be told otherwise... ;)
