V room question

I was a little surprised to see that alcohol is extra in the v room. All the other pay lounges have it included. I am not after getting hammered but a beer or two before the flight would be nice. Any idea on how pricey drinks are in there?

I had a search on the forum but couldn't see anything relating to this

Thanks

Sam

Also interested in the V-Room detail. I've booked for 6 of us at Manchester next week and hoping we can get breakfast before boarding :-)

I've tried using google to search for any details on prices, but can't find anything at all other than on the vh website that says competetive prices, but competetive compared to what, is anyones guess ?|

This is not helpful at all, I know, but I didn't even see a drinks menu when we used it in the summer. There is help yourself juices, soft drinks and hot drinks. I didn't even go down into the bar area.

If you are after a few beers and some breakfast why not look at paying for the CH instead of the V-Room??
Might be a break-even cost if you add the cost of a beer or two plus a pre-flight cocktail.......

I don't know how much the alcohol is in the V-Room but the man on the next table to us last year was charged £1 for a bottle of water, silly really when as you say you can hot and cold drinks. Also breakfast rolls of eggs and bacon, fruit, yoghurt and cereal all available. Now having experienced the UC lounge would always if possible choose that to the V-ROOM if you can get in. y)

I didn't know you could just pay to use the CH? I thought you had to be UC or AU?

if you are booked with VH you can pay to access the Clubhouse, subject to availability.

I think Gatwick Clubhouse is £50 and Heathrow £60

Hi Sam

Mitchja and I did a trip report from the Manchester V-Room last June when it opened. It's a little bit dated now, but the intention was that alcoholic drinks would be at reasonable prices (we were told around £2.80 for a pint and £3.50 for a cocktail). Not many people have posted since on what the "normal" levels of service are like post the opening events.

Anyone been through the LGW V room? I am still keen to find out if I need to take a mortgage out to buy a beer or cocktail when we go to St Lucia in Feb

Thanks
