Twilight check in

Hi, thinking of using this next month to try and secure better seats if olci doesn't work. Do you have to present all bags I.e. cabin baggage too or just your main luggage? The advice on the vs/vh website just says generically "luggage"

Silly question possibly, but why would you need to take your hand luggage with you when you do twilight check in(I've never used the facilty, was am planning to soon).
I don't recal ever having my hand luggage even looked at when checking in before (but then again, I've only ever had a rucksack with me)
But as I have never used the service before, any words of wisdom from people that have used this service would be greatly appreciated ;)

Twilight check in opens at midday, and they will let you check in once that days flight has left as we were held back once as that days flight had been delayed. You can drop your main luggage if you want so you only have your hand luggage, or if you wish to the next day you can keep your luggage with you and drop it off then at bag drop.

I know my hand luggage will be overweight, that's why I don't want to have to show it, last time I flew, and not in PE/UC they were strict. I live near LGW, so will not save me any time or make it more convenient. Just trying to avoid having to check valuable items into the hold, and get the better seats.

If you get your hand luggage checked at TCI below weight you can then top up for taking through in the morning.

I must admit only ever done TCI with Thompson and they weigh hand luggage and want to see it. Its no different to normal check in except its the night before you fly.

I suppose there's no harm me taking my hand luggage with me when I use twilight check in, I know I'll be well under weight, was just being lazy as I couldn't see a reason why you would need to take it with you.
