Hi and welcome.
You won't be able to find out which actual a/c you will be on until the day, this information is never made public for security reasons.
You can see if it is a new or old config by looking in the manage my booking section on the Virgin site, from about 48 hours before your flight it is pretty accurate as to which config type it will be, before that it is still subject to change.
Thanks,
Neil

Thanks for that insight Neil.
I have looked in the manage my booking bit, but I can't see how you can tell the seating config, and from that see which planes have that config back on this site?
I, like Elvira, am hoping not to get TOP on the daytime flight to MCO

Cheers,
Max

If the upstairs has a mixture of PE (2-2 config) and economy (3-3 config) the it is a refurbished plane, it is is all PE then it is a non refurbished plane.

Thanks for the swift reply Neil.
For the flight on 31 Oct the Manage my Booking page won't let me choose my seat - and therefore see the seat map.
In the little boxes for each flight, the "Wheres My Seat" bit says "Currently Unavailable" and the FAQ link next to it says that this is disabled for this LGW/MCO route due to the Aircraft Upgrades in progress and won't become available until 24h prior to departure for online check-in.
The link to check seats is active in the return flight, so I guess I'll just have to wait and see

The seat map should open up between 48 and 72 hours before your flight. You still won't be able to select seats (even though it will look like you can, you will get an error message when you hit save), and then either the system will allocate seats for you if the flight is full, or you will be able to select seats at OLCI. Recently the system seems to be allocating most flights as the loads are high at this time of year and it ensures the maximum number of families/groups are sat together.
