Checking in when OLCI is not an option

Hi All, newbie poster here, but very long time lurker. Thanks for a great, informative site ^)
I'm going to LA and the Hawaiian Islands at the end of this month and have 6 flights in my booking and so am unable to manage my booking online.
Courtesies of the UC Reservation team, I do have my 1st choice seat requests in the system. I know that these aren't guaranteed and, obviously, will be unable to secure these through OLCI.
I, therefore, wanted to ask all you experts on here if DTCI is the next best alternative check in option available to me. Or, am I missing a trick here? And, quite possibly, worrying unnecessarily?!

Thanks in advance...

Hello :)

Where are you flying from?! Would Twilight Check In be an option for you??

I'm flying from Heathrow (on the VS007), so no twilight check in option for me either

The only real option you have is to do airport check in. DCTI is an option if you are on a fare that qualifies for the CDC or if you have arranged your own transport through the DTCI (remember this must be pre-booked and car information given before your arrival).

Thanks Neil, this is what I suspected, but thought I'd better check here first just in case I'd missed something.

Get someone else to do it for you.

OP has 6 flight sectors in the booking.

Even someone else cant do OLCI if there are more than 4 flight sectors in the booking. No one can access it for any MMB functions.

I know 'cos I too have 6 sectors for a trip next year :(!

Quick update - Co, in particular, this will interest you.
Thought I'd give OLCI a go this morning anyway and, surprise surprise, was actually able to check in online y)
Only problem was that we have had a change of aircraft, our original 747 seat requests have been honoured and could not be altered, so tomorrow I face the prospect of me being on one side of the A346 and my hubby on the other. Of course, he might actually enjoy this :?

I guess that's the risk you take if you call and ask for specific seats. Presumably they made a manual note on your booking which they are honouring. You can't blame them for that - and there's always a chance that the aircraft type will change to match demand.

If you get to LHR early enough hopefully they'll be able to juggle things around and seat you together - but at the end of the day they're only doing what you asked!

Yeah thanks for that
The OLCI will be available regardless ..., it's just the MMB part that I want to use for seat request
Cheers
