Hi all,

Ahead of my flight tomorrow to LAX, I have decided my best shot of upgrade to UC with miles will be at the airport. Question is, if I use OLCI today, will this cause any issues potentially upgrading at the airport?

As Neil says it won't and you'll want to get the best available seat in your current cabin so still do OLCI

Great. Just waiting for it to open. Thing is, I'm trying to decided whether to spring for an upgrade on the return leg - which has availability, or try at the airport for the outbound (limited miles). So it's a gamble to see whether there's still a/v on the return tomorrow after check in (should I not be successful). Decisions decisions!

for me the choice is easy - go for the return as it is a night flight and you will more use form the bed.

You could also consider buying miles to make up what you need.

As an only occasional long haul flyer, if you don't have status to get you CH access and don't need to be on form the day after you get back, I'd say upgrade on the outbound if it's one or t'other. Maximise the fun!

I just did that! I figured a nice flat bed on the return is more useful - plus I can use the return lounge for a bit back at LHR! I didn't want to get to the airport tomorrow, find out there was no chance of UC and then lose out on a return upgrade!

Don't count on being able to use Revivals at LHR as it's scheduled to close at 1.30pm, before both the LAX flights arrive.

Having said that it used to stay open until after the VS8 arrived but that used to be about 12.30 and is now 1.35 - maybe it still does but don't bank on it.

last time we were in the revivals (Sept)we had problems with being picked up and we were still there at 1.30

Got upgraded to uc from pe 3 times now and each time had checked in online so imho hasnt hurt me to olci
