Tonty is correct, the JFK CH is only for UC pax or Au card holders and their guests, you cannot buy or pay for access any other way.

I can't help with a suggestion, I'm afraid. Bear in mind that T4 is being redeveloped at the moment and so the main shopping area is like a war zone. I think there are some options post-security, but perhaps someone else will be able to confirm.

NB ask for upgrade prices/options at check in? :)

If you have time on your hands at the airport don't go through security to early, the A pier that VS now uses is small and there isn't very much there, you have more options pre-security. There is always The Lounge that you can pay to use.

My recommendation would be to go somewhere in Manhattan for a hearty lunch around 2pm. Then head to JFK to check in at about 5, not bother with the dining options in the terminal and then eat on the aircraft.

Sorry Blacky, ya def can't book it. I do however spy someone on the VS4 later on and a Lounge invite by their name... 8D

If not, my advice would be to stay in Manhattan. Have a big lunch and a few drinks and then that time of day I would usually say leave the city at 4/430, however given the transport mess that is still around post Sandy I would give it an extra half hour.

Whereabouts are you guys staying?

Wow nice one... good hotel.

If I don't have work to do I usually spend my time in a nice Irish pub across the street from my hotel. Always good food, a few (too many at times) pints of Sam Adams and watch the sports on TV. Ahh bliss.... ha ha

Is the lounge worth going to and what's on offer?

Sorry not too sure on The Lounge at JFK.... always been a VS CH kinda guy ;)

Although from what I have heard it is a basic lounge out of the way that gives you booze, food and a place to relax before the flight.... all one really needs from a lounge. I would just say that last time I was passing through JFK the area where The Lounge used to be, opposite the old VS CH, was all cordoned off behind MDF screens.... Was it closed? Has it reopened? or relocated? are the questions that I am sure some intrepid v-flyer may know the answer too. If it is open, I would find out the cost and think, now will I be spending this per person on food, drink, wifi anyway in the terminal shops... :?

Regardless, enjoy your last day in NYC and the flight home Blacky 8D

Probably too late but whilst your at Bloomingdales why not have a trip on the Roosevelt island tramway? It's only a few blocks away and is a bit if a novelty.

Despite being called a tramway it's actually a cable car !
