Can anyone say which are the best seats to go for in economy in the bubble? I'm assuming it's better to to be in the bubble than downstairs if you're flying economy.

Have read mixed reports on this, having flown in the bubble a few times (PE) I did wonder how they would fit these seats in,on reading reports they do seem to be a bit cramped but people do seem to like being up there with the advantage of getting of the plane quicker

Never been in the bubble since economy was put up there but presumably the row 75 just before the emergency exits is pretty popular for legroom.

we flew back on sat/sun on v-roy econ in row 78 from mco it felt cramped up there. the overhead bins are small but if you go for a window seat you still have the side bins to deposit your essentials for the flight. the aisle also seemed narrower than downstairs if I was to go upstairs again I would try for the first row of Y seats for the leg room but you lose width due to the TV monitor is in the arm of the seat. and don't eat take on your own food it was so bad......

So you think downstairs might be better?

Take a look at my review Lgw-anu 14th November 12. I was sat upstairs in row 75, even in a standard seat I would recommend upstairs over the cattle market that is downstairs.

If you get a window seat, you also get the added benefit of the 'window sill' area to store all of your paraphernalia.

You also get the added benefit of a much slicker food and drinks service.

Lastly, you get off the plane before PE and EC!

The front row of Economy seats in the bubble is fantastic. Basically infinite legroom and if they leave the dividing curtains between PE open, it feels very spacious indeed. Almost as good as being in PE, for a whole lot less money.

Have to agree with Smarties - I flew outbound to SFO upstairs and thought it was immensely better than being downstairs ^) ^)

Well that's settled then - just so long as we don't have VTOP still working out of Manchester on 3rd Dec we at least have a chance of getting into the bubble! I have everything crossed.

as for the bubble I think if you get a aisle seat no as you have a restricted leg room due to a seat support and the edge of the seat which is only just wide enough for my legs and no room for a bag so for me yes downstairs from now on. the advantage is they let you of the aircraft after UC PE but that's no good when you have to wait almost 2hrs in the LGW baggage hall for your bags... Shame on them!
