Sale question

Am I right in thinking it only tends to be the cheapest fare buckets that have their prices cut during VS sales - or do they reduce the likes of L and S fares as well?

Thanks

The sales fares booked in to the lowest fare code in each class, so no, you don't get say 10% of an L or S fare.

Of course all fare codes do go up and down throughout the period they are on sale, but they aren't linked through sales.

This is also what causes the strange situation where miles + money fares can be more expensive than a straight paid for one.

I may be wrong but haven't there been some occasions when S fares have been reduced in sales?

Not wrong, all variable change I guess..

I have seen S fares reduce when there has been an UC sale on before. I am not sure if this was due to a low load or whether or not the illustrious revenue management team decided to lower the flexible fares to be proportionally in line with the other fare buckets :? come to think of it that requires too much thought.. I'd go with option 3 - pure luck :P
