Hi,

We are flying UC to SFO returning from LAX over the Easter Period in UC......Can anybody tell me if we are likely to have the new UC suites on our flights?

Many thanks,

Most unlikely, the A333s are not operating on SFO or LAX but there's always the possibility of a kit change however unlikely on these routes.

No, the 747s and 346s that mainly operate the LAX and SFO routes have the old UC suites. Only the 333s have the new ones at present and they currently don't fly those routes.

Which is good news Bruce, from most feedback so far...

Have just had a look and it is showing as 747 and A340 routes so no for the moment, looks like you will be stuck in the old UCS :P

What you are looking for is the A330-300.... that is the one with the new 'dream' suites on it. |:)

I second the comment that you are lucky to avoid the new UCS. It is just too cramped in my view, this would be compounded on a long west coast flight. Would rather be in PE on a Virgin A330 (at least if it was my miles or cash paying the fare!)

+1 from me as regards giving the new UCS a wide berth (partly because they most certainly not a 'wide berth', nor a long one, unless you have a very pointy head).

My advice is to enjoy the 'Classic UCS' while it lasts, preferably in the nose of a 744.

ISTBC, but I believe VS has obtained the IGW (increased gross weight) version of the A330-300. If so, this means that it has the range to do west coast trips such as SFO and LAX.

Pointy head and one leg needed for LAX then...bet that will be a long flight....

I think there are other reason why the 330's cannot do west coast. I believe BOM is the furthest it can go unless VS make changes to the internal config.

Are no crew rest facilities on the A330's so that will have an effect on what routes it can operate i'd assume!
