Went on to manage my booking for our flights October 2013 but could not request a childs meal for our son who will be 10 at the time. Do they give an adult meal for a 10 year old? He is a fussy eater and the childrens meals are much more suited to him. There were lots of choices of other ie Kosher, vegatarian, Gluten free and others I had not even heard of, but no kids meal? ?|

I have had this before and contacted VS to request a childs meal - you may have to go through your travel agent, though, as you did not book direct (i'm not sure) :D

Yes they would offer an adult meal if no child meal has been ordered (or ordered but not loaded which does happem)

BTW that is the only choice you would get i.e. 'child meal' you don't get a further choice of e.g. pizza, chicken nuggets or fish fingers. The meal on the day would be what the caterers provide.

If he is that fussy an eater then best take something you know he can (will) eat on board with you but bear in mind the security requirements re liquids and that the crew are unable to heat meals up.

The kids were eating some tomato pasta last time I flew VS (this was in 2008 though!). Also included were a pack of haribo sweets, a pack of mini cheddars and a bread roll. It actually looked nice. Of course this may well (and most likely has changed) but should hopefully give a guidline of what to expect :)
